What is AQI?
Air quality index (AQI) measures the quality of the surrounding air that describes how clean or polluted the air is. The high air pollution might have concern for the public health. AQI is usually calculated based on major air pollutants: ozone (O3), coarse particles (PM10), fine particles (PM2.5), carbon monoxide (CO), sulfur dioxide (SO2), and nitrogen dioxide (NO2). AQI status mentioned below are calculated based on PM2.5. Please visit The National Ambient Air Quality Standards for Particle Pollution for more detail.
